About CCFM

How did all this come about? In December of 2000, a group of ministers from SC, NC, and OH met to share their hearts’ burden concerning the need for fellowship. Though their congregations were “autonomous”, they acknowledged the sincere need for personal and doctrinal accountability and a deeper sense of connectedness to others within the Body of Christ. Several in the group were already well acquainted and bonded with each other. All agreed that the existing relationships would benefit by being taken to a greater, more official level. Therefore, out of that meeting was formed a covenant group, The Christian Covenant Fellowship of Ministries (CCFM). Bishop Blue was selected to lead this fledgling fellowship.

The group of leaders agreed to gather for a conference in May 2001 in Marion, SC, at the newly erected Door of Hope Christian Church sanctuary. The first conference was a tremendous success as the leaders and their congregants came together to worship, to pray, to study, and to strategize for more effectiveness in their locales. It became clear to all that this was not merely a good idea, but a God-idea.

Since those initial gatherings in 2000 and 2001, tremendous growth has occurred in the Fellowship and in the Conference. The churches / ministries affiliated with the Fellowship are variously located: SC, NC, MD, NJ, PA, NY, IL, OH, WI, IN, FL, GA, VA. Throughout the years, these covenant ministries have endeavored to complement each other’s works — through love, prayer, visits of encouragement, and the sharing of resources. These things have precipitated an ongoing momentum of development. The meeting was entirely housed at The Door of Hope until 2005, after which the evening sessions (and Friday / Saturday day sessions) were relocated to the Florence Civic Center.

Florence Center has been our gracious host from 2005. Speakers have included John Maxwell, Bishop T. D. We continue to place a particular emphasis on preparing youth and young adults for leadership.
